An entry must contain the following fields and order:

The system allows the first line of the file to contain column titles if the corresponding checkbox is checked.

All data that is imported to the system will go through the same error checking process as when data is entered manually into the system. Thus the same rules mentioned will be applied for all the fields.

The Social security number (SSN) is used as the employee’s ID and therefore it needs to be unique. The postal code needs to be an Icelandic one that contains three digits. If the address is non-Icelandic the postal code must be 999. A list of valid postal codes is given here. The city is not mandatory unless the address is non-Icelandic, it is always recommended to include the city in any case. It is necessary to insert a correct holiday account number and the percentage of it should be typed in as a normal number, e.g. 10. For the pension fund columns, it is necessary to have an ID for the pension as well as the correct name. For the special pension fund columns, it is also necessary to include a percentage, an ID and a correct name. Same applies to the union columns, an ID and a correct name.
